Existem uma ferramenta estatística pública no final de 2011 na
Science Magazine que se chama MINE. Essa ferramenta tem um método
que chama MIC e outro que chama MIC^2. Esse última análise a
correlação não-linear entre duas variáveis. Os resultados dessas
ferramentas é dado entre 0 e 1 e, como apresentado no artigo
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://goo.gl/pcldqm">http://goo.gl/pcldqm</a>), é o melhor até então para analisar
correlação entre pares de variáveis.<br>

Existe uma implementação dessa ferramenta em Java como uma
